Gentle Yoga is a yoga class that is open to anyone who would like the benefits of yoga but has some trouble with mat work. In this class we don't go down to the floor at all. We use chairs as support for learning balance poses and some of the poses are done sitting and some are done standing but all poses can be adapted for the student who can not stand for very long.
We have small class sizes at the Healing Space (no more than seven students per class) which enable us to give personal attention to each student. We are a very informal class and most of our students find the 45 minute class to go by very quickly.
For the first time student, you don't need special yoga clothes, unless it would make you happy to have them. Loose fitting clothes and comfortable shoes with backs, sneakers are best. Some students are more comfortable in bare feet and that is fine as well. You don't need to bring anything to class, we provide everything you need. There is currently a class on Wednesday mornings at 9am but it has limited openings. We are forming classes on other days so call or email me with your desired times and will try to accommodate your schedule needs.
